I have been playing American McGee's Alice a lot lately and I keep coming back to this fantastic game. I'll never get enough of it since, by almost every playthrough, I notice some new things and details. Details like the Phrenology sign in Skool Daze (what exactly does it mean other then the phrenology itself?) or the "You're Next" bloody texts in Hatters Domain/Behind the Looking Glass. As American McGee himself stated that if Alice had not gone through this psychiological journey and freed herself from her own demise in the asylum, she would have been trepanned/lobotomized, and I believe this is what the "You're Next" text is implying and is really saying. In other words, Alice, deep inside, knew all that was at stake and at risk, plus that she knew that time was running out. Perhaps all of you knew or got to know this too. It was not too long ago since I myself got to understand this. But so far, this is the new stuff I've learned and came to understand about this first AMAlice game, about such small and deep details. I might soon discover some new things as well, as you'll never know what this game has in stake for you, this game's so deep and there's so many details and hidden things etc. What have you guys so far discovered or learned about this game and all the hidden stuff and details etc it has?

I remember coming across the lovely mural that foreshadow's Alice being imprisoned by the ants in the Fortress of Doors. That one is gorgeous.

I remember coming across the lovely mural that foreshadow's Alice being imprisoned by the ants in the Fortress of Doors. That one is gorgeous. I yes, that one too! I still love looking up on that mural every time I am in that room. Btw, I also have noticed another theory-like hidden thing in AMA, and that is about the Insane children in Hatters Insanitarium. Maybe you guys have noticed this too, I myself noticed this lately. You know, all those rooms that those Insane Children are held in, there's this steam vents there that you're supposed to shut off by hitting the clocks. Did you know and noticed that after a while when those vents have been shut off/down the Insane Children goes- umm... lively?... and such and does there usual crazy and upbeat behaviour-routine like they do in Skool Daze. This means that by what they did before those vents where shut down (they're like waving their arms and hushing at themselves), I figured that they must have been in a more sedated state. This makes me wonder, what the heck was in that sedative steam?... But then again, Hatter and his Insanitarium-staff did worse things to them, like we all know. I know this might be an unimportant and menial things, but it's still pretty interesting and I, personally, love these small hidden details and depths in every, both, game, movies and books etc.

And even tough asylums and hospitals etc scares me some, I still couldn't resist looking around and paying attention to everything. But that's just me, my curiosity again, lol. ^^

Those creepy and crawli'n Nightmare Spiders. I hate them too, plus that I have fear of spiders in general (except for some Tarantula-species, I know I'm weird, lol.) Speaking of those Nightmare Spiders, it's said that those represent the asylum staff, also because of their needles and their liking for prodding etc. And then their hallucination-serum, or-whatever-it's-called. This I personally find really freaky as I'm scared of both spiders and needles/injections.

I hate spiders but their bites were the damn worst. They literally took Alice from 100 to 0 quick.

And those creepy sounds they make, EEEEeeeeek!!! Some real-life actually existing spiders in our world can make such similar hissing sounds, at least some species.

Uuuuggghhh, spiders overall. I wouldn't be surpriced if I had nightmares of those Nightmare Spiders one day, especially since I sometimes can have nightmares of real-life spiders overall.

I would have liked to see some A:MR concepts of the spiders, though. Perhaps not in-game but they weren't even considered in the second game by the looks of the concepts.

I would've LOVED to see them in AMR and fight e'm with AMR's fighting-mechanism. That would've been so awesome and bring some more creepiness in the game (not saying the game didn't have any creepiness).

Speaking of the trippy hallucination, does anybody of you have any idea what Alice's trippy hallucination from the Nightmare Spiders actually is. A distorted face? A picture etc? Or something else? Perhaps I should check the skins in the game itself for this to see what it actually is.
