As many of you might have thought about or felt before, the game Madness Returns feels rather unfinnished... This is something I have felt more and more lately. I don't know where to start, but if I'm to start with discussing it story-wise (which I feel is important when it comes to gaming). Don't get me wrong, I love this game, but even so, it's sad that AMR both is and feels pretty unfinnished.
The story is in many parts pretty blurry and jumpy. Especially all the sequences in London. But also even in Wonderland at parts, like in chapter 2 when Alice discovers that the Carpenter is actually a killer. How did she discover that out when she encounters the cellar with all those murdered fish and tortured Mayor after the quest with the Drowned Sailors? Or the left out part in chapter 3 where Alice is supposed to meet and even fight the Wasp Empress?
And this leads us to the left out bosses. That's also sad, that this game could have had bosses... Imagine how cool it would have been to fight the Wasp Empress or even the Queen of Hearts (I guess that you were supposed to fight her). And also, perhaps the final boss could have been done better even though I still Think that it's both awesome and dark.
Oh yeah, and this leads me to some levels, how some levels weren't properly or even barely developed, like in chapter 1 in Hatters Domain, those Cupping and Saucing and Lactation levels that could have been. Imagine what kind of levels that could have been in every chapter in this game but was left out, also like the Infernal Train, those levels that could have been there.
I know, all of this may open up greatly to imagination and all, but still, this still bugs me. While I'm aware that EA gave them Little time, they still could have used that time to develop the story-line, the levels and the bosses properly. But instead of doing that the creators seemed to care more about developing what Alice was to wear throughout the game (even though the dresses are lovely).
I hate to complain, but this is what I feel about this game even though I at the same time love it. How do you feel about this whole thing?
