Many of you might have heard about this issue or encountered it yourselves. That Facebook is blocking your account just because they need you to verify your name and send in an ID etc. This is what I myself am dealing with now and I feel so mad. I'm also ZeldAlice on Facebook and that who I am known for nowadays on the net. Why do I have to send in an ID and put in my real name!? I'm not comfortable with either giving away my real name or especially my ID. Seriously Facebook, what the HECK!? Anybody else on here who has the same problem. What to do about it. Many of my friends are using Facebook and that's why this bugs me. But I don't want to give away my real name on a place like Facebook!!!... *sigh* What to do about this!?...

Didn't know about the issue, but well... FB is that kind of site that needs your real name. You can usually get around it though and/or fake some information abour yourself.

Maybe that was possible for some time ago but since they're asking this all now, they don't seem to be easily fooled. It's like they require your real ID and I'm personally not comfortable with that at all. But I don't get it, they don't have rights to ask this of us, they're a social online media or such!...

I don't know, I saw lots of people not using their real names and it seems they had no problem with it. About the comfort issue... Tbh, Facebook can do whatever they want. And if you don't want to provide certain info, just leave. That's what others do at least, but I'd understand if you want to stay there after all. Maybe if people decide to boycott this thing or whatever, it will change.

Even though I'm completely NOT comfortable with providing my ID for Facebook. I still have no choice. Even though I myself can live without Facebook I still have my friends on their, and I just can't leave them, especially without a word. But I decided to send in my ID afterall, I just sent it in for minutes ago. And if Facebook won't re-open my Facebook page after this, then to HELL with them!

Yeah, I'm sure, because I saw people with unusual names and stuff. I understand, I wouldn't want to leave the site either because of friends and well, i need to be in touch with what's happening in my school (we have a page for that). You can always try making another account.

You can always try making another account. But couldn't the unusual names just have been unusual names and not nicknames? But I also agree, one wouldn't want to leave friends behind and all. I also don't need any longer to make a new account (plus, they would just find it and crave an ID of that one as well) because Facebook now approved my account, even though I had to send in my actual ID to get it done. But still, this was indeed, in my personal opinion, not very good of Facebbok to do something like this!...

wtf. were they really from facebook? sounds like a scam. It was from Facebook themselves, and a lot of people were against it. Facebook suddenly begs you to confirm your name and identity with an acceptable form of ID.

lol this is so weird. but you got it back, yes? you can add me on facebook if you like. I know, this is both weird and very weird of Facebook. Yes, I got it back now at least, but I had to show my actual ID (and I'm not too comfortable with that) plus that now my Facebook page shows my full name. But am glad that they put my internet nickname in parenthesis (or what it's now called in English). And yes, sure I'd love to add you. What's your name on Facebook? No, wait. Send me a link if you feel like it. ^_^

and what did you have as your name before they changed it to your real name? i mean, was it really sooo horribly sticking out of multi-million crowd of names that at some facebook employee's desk a warning light lit up screaming "yooo this user is faaake af, gotta check their ID!!" ?? my link is in my profile under social networks. and if anyone else would like to officially be-facebook-friended, you're welcome. I had the same name as on here, "ZeldAlice". Other, I'll be sure to check out your page and add you next time I'll go online on facebook.^_^ I also think that I'm gonna add my own Facebook page on my profile here as well.

Ironically, there are lots of Alice Zelda's on Facebook. You could change your name to that, blend in with the crowd and never be bothered again Lol, that's cool. But I'm also kinda ok with the name I have now on Facebook, plus that my nickname is also in a parenthesis.

That happened to me too, but it was inside the website itself. It asked me to upload a photo of my ID, and no matter what I did... I couldn't get around it, so I sent that pic. I use my real name, so I'm ok with that. BUT, for you guys; that's bad news.
How about doctoring a picture with ZeldAlice?

Because were not trolls, we're just people who prefer to use our internet-nicknames/names! Did you get your Facebook-account to work in the end? Mine did, but I had to send in a real and an acceptable form of ID. So now my whole name is on Facebook. Ah well, at least they put my internet-nickname/name in parenthesis.

I remember the exact same thing happened with Google+ and the very few people who weren't Google employees and used it complained about it... but it was forgotten rather quickly. I remember when Facebook used to be more simple. Nowadays you must register with a phone number, it asks for a lot of data from you before letting you actually start using it. By the time your account is setup, half an hour passed.

I tried changing my name, but I can't even change it because facebook, sort of, locked the function or something. Ah well... And yes, Facebook has become a little too "advanced".
